We bought tickets months ago, making the trip from overseas to be home for the holidays for the first time in 20 years. We've already paid for the tickets and the car and everything, so going to stick with the plan and hope for the best. They aren't trumpers, but they don't want to think unhappy thoughts.
Clarification: Although probably all "slave-traders" were white, I understand that most of the "kidnappers" were black Africans. Almost everyone agrees that Slavery was an unspeakably cruel tragedy of American history. May it NEVER happen again in any way, shape, or form!
I would like to think that had I been living and present at our (Springfield, MO) Public Square on April 13,1906, that three black men -- Horace Duncan, Fred Coker, and William Allen -- would have been lynched OVER MY DEAD BODY! I am not aware that any of my relatives were there. I don't know what else to say.
If you care about education and justice you are now going to be called upon to stand up for those and more as every institution in America is assaulted. Remember what is left will be for our children to inherit. What will it be, a country in ruins, or a country that said NOT ON MY WATCH. It is fine to have a variety of opinions and ideas, but we will see who the truly caring people of America are as this plays out.......And no one will be able to run and hide, all will be forced to decide where they stand.
I agree that replacing one Bureaucracy with another and one "philosophy" with another will accomplish little, if anything. Let's just agree on what 'WORKS."
My mother was an Elementary School Teacher for 36 years. My Pastor was a Teacher and Principal for 35 years. My sister is head of "Special Education" in a large city on the west coast. My oldest daughter teaches High School "delinquents" -- giving them their last chance before being expelled. My youngest daughter has an exceptional job, but can't afford to fulfill her dream of being a "Teacher." All of them would say, "HELP US to do our job of teaching, but don't tell us how to do it! JUST GET OUT OF OUR WAY! Let us love the kids!
I am all for cutting waste: I have been told that the first thing to go will be six DEI Directors making "six figures." Is DEI really THAT important? You can believe DEI and Woke stuff if you want to: Just don't make me pay for it!
I thought in America that we are "innocent until PROVEN guilty!" If Matt Gaetz IS guilty of what you are saying, I like what Paul Harvey said: "Remove his weapon!."
Project 2025 on page 797 says, "not to give yourself powers you wouldn't want your opponents to have." I have thought about this and I don't want to see our Military roaming our streets searching for "criminals:" In 4 more years, they could be searching for me!
I feel sickened, literally thinking about the next four years. Heaven help us! I lost my son to cancer last year and was just starting to feel a little better after suffering depression, now this! Fortunately, I have always been a fighter, and I will not give up now!! We need to stay strong-we are all in this together.
Attention should not be on Trump. He's just a decoy, a patsy. In a year he is of no more value for P2025 once he's established their strongholds. Then he will hear the awful truth, will live an easy life in the White House while others will run the shop, for him in name only.

The First Nations were not treated any better in fact one could argue they were treated worse. Don’t ignore that part of history.
