Yes. I’m afraid in the time before Jan 21, people will slip into their Christmas mode and conveniently forget the horror that just happened. Especially people with enough financial resources to ride this out.

I’m so angry, but I’m working to turn that anger into resolve.

Thank you for your insights.

Adolph Hitler was NOT democratically elected. He lost the 1932 election. Paul von Hindenburg was elected with 53% of the vote. That lowlife piece of human garbage Adolph Hitler did not even garner 37% of the vote.

After he was appointed chancellor by Hindenburg (because his party got the plurality of votes - in the 30's percantage-wise), and Hindenburg died, he asserted the power of the presidency. But after banning other major parties and arresting a great many of their leaders, his Nazi party and another coalition party together did achieve a majority to give him "emergency" powers to handle a contrived "emergency". But neither he nor his party ever received a majority or a mandate to assume permanent dictatorial powers - that was the last election he allowed.

My memory of the history is a little different. I believe it was actually the war reparations Germany was required to pay after WWI, coupled with the Great Depression that created the economic disaster an authoritarian like Hitler could use to justify his seizure of power, not the influenza pandemic of 1918.

Thanks for chiming in! I meant to write that the pandemic was just one of the destabilizing factors that caused Germans to feel economically insecure and be susceptible to Hitler’s promises of relief. Not that it was totally that. I’m so tired, am I even making sense right now? At any rate, I appreciate the clarity.

Tiffany, I would never ask you to change or especially "compromise" your convictions, which is something that I am not willing to do. We have both read Project 2025 and we have different beliefs concerning a variety of issues. It is obvious that you both hate Trump personally, and all the things that you believe he is trying to do. You hate what you believe to be evil -- men (or women) and their actions which result in continued "evil" and you want to stop it. So do I.

I want to THANK YOU for "sounding an alarm." If just a small part of what you are warning is accurate, that is completely unacceptable and I applaud you for exposing and resisting it. Let's get everything out in the open where everyone can know what's happening and if not, reveal what is hidden -- just what are they hiding and why? So, you want to change the System. So do I.

Questions:

Should Immigration be limited or controlled? Both the Democrats and Republicans say "Yes, the system is broken and needs to be fixed." I don't understand why it hasn't already been done, except that Tim Walz said in the VP debate, "We need more workers."

Should political opponents, who have broken the law, be held accountable?

Should "career public servants" be required to "earn their keep," "meet their quotas" and fulfill their responsibilities? Who should oversee and govern this? If it were possible to replace the current Bureaucracy with something more efficient and accountable, wouldn't you do it?

Is pornography immoral and harmful? I realize that Project 2025 wants to ban pornography. If I could, I would ban pornography, alcohol, marijuana and other "illicit drugs," prostitution, gambling, "abortion on demand" -- WITH necessary EXCEPTIONS, and any other "vice" we can think of. However, "PROHIBITION" didn't work (So I've been told). And again, who should decide. In a way, "We the People." But we must be prepared to "deal with the consequences!"

So, "librarians are just doing their job." Where have I heard THAT before?

"Trans kids need help: The question is, "What kind of help, and from whom?

Who are "gays in the Military" serving -- their Country or themselves?

I always thought "teaching basic stuff" in schools was like "reading, writing, math, and Science (knowledge). I agree that History should be "what actually happened" with no bias. Of course, all teaching has a purpose. Who decides that purpose.

As long as you are telling me the truth, I will trust you. And frankly, IF all the answers to your eight "if" questions is "yes," then I would want nothing to do with them either! But, I don't know anyone who "wants" any of those things. But then, I don't know their hearts, only their actions. We shall see.

I didn't vote for Trump -- the "personality." I voted for many of the things that he said he was going to do. And I don't know of anything he said that would be "unconstitutional." However, I will be watching and hold him accountable. And I voted against many of the things that Democrats promised to do that I don't want to happen or be part of. However, this "back and forth" is worst of all. Let's make up our minds and not let anyone be hurt in the process.

I have also thoroughly studied Project 2025, and I don't want anyone to lose their rights. But I do want them to lose their "wrongs." In this country, we have to agree on what is wrong and "innocent or guilty." Prison is for "criminals," Who decides: The criminals?

Defend your Rights: That is your Right.

Hey Tim, thank you so much for reading and being here and staying curious and engaged with people who think differently than you. We need more of that.

You are welcome to keep reading to learn more about my perspective, but I'm no longer going to respond to these highly specific questions nor justify my identity as a Christian. Even though I often puzzle how Christians can support a man like Donald Trump, who stands for the opposite of the example Jesus set, I find the question largely unhelpful for two reasons:

1. There is no one way to be a Christian. Even Christians can't agree on how to be a Christian, which is why there are 45,000 Christian denominations throughout the world.

2. This country was established on religious neutrality, not Christianity. So while I might use my relationship with God as my moral guidepost, I know it's wrong to force it on others. A personal relationship with God is a choice, privilege, and responsibility in that order. Who are you to say other people need to adjust their behavior based on your personal relationship with God?

Thank you for your invitation to become friends. You don't have to justify anything to me, especially yourself or your Christianity. "It is God that justifies" (Romans 8:33). And "God is able to make (you) stand" (Romans 14:4): Not that I think you are "weak in the faith." However, I am trying to understand WHY you believe what you believe.

I am a local pastor and have two concerns: One of the things that drew me to you (and others) was your statement that you "used to be a 'conservative Christian.'" I don't want to lose any more members and I especially don't want to drive them away! One of the things that divides Christians (into denominations) is Doctrine, or simply Teaching. This past Sunday, my Sunday-School teacher stated in her lesson that "Jesus went to 'Hell'" Immediately, I clarified her statement by reminding everyone that Jesus DID NOT spend 3 days "burning in hell" -- which some preachers teach -- but rather 3 hours on the Cross, separated from his Father: "My God, My God, Why have you forsaken me?" Jesus literally and "spiritually" died on the Cross, bearing our sins, and then said, "It is finished -- PAID IN FULL." Susan then thanked me for straightening out her confusion. Since we are a "Bible Church," that is my only Authority and Standard of Truth. Of course, God didn't stop "speaking" and working in our lives, when the canon was closed, but he never contradicts Himself. That is how we can know whether something or someone is "of God" or not. Either "Saints" or "ain'ts."

Clarification: Our Country was established on "Denominational" neutrality -- almost every State had its own denomination, and our Fathers did not want to "Establish" a particular one over the others. At that time, 99% of Americans were "Christian," 1% Jewish, and few, if any Muslim. Of course, many of the Indians had their own belief -- some in "The Great Spirit" -- and many converted to Christianity.

This illustrates a tremendously important contemporary Problem: You and I were using the same word or concept -- "Religion" -- but we have a differing definition of that word. Before we can effectively communicate with each other, we have to agree to use the same dictionary: WE MUST BE SPEAKING THE SAME LANGUAGE. And I pray that that language is "American!" Of course, we are a quite "diverse" group. But, we should all be United under our mutual "Constitution." And as a "Conservative," I am not inclined to change it, but rather enforce it on behalf of ALL Citizens.

I cannot make anyone believe what I believe. I just ask that you do not try to make me approve of, pay for, or participate in anything contrary to my beliefs. I am not a hypocrite. Ditto.

Again, thank you for the time you have spent and invested in interacting with me. That is how we can learn to work together to solve the pressing problems that have most of us desperately concerned. Most of us love America and agree: God Bless America. And as Abe Lincoln prayed: "May we be on God's Side!"
