Hello new readers! I’m so glad to have you here!
This Halloween season, there’s nothing scarier than what will happen if Project 2025 comes to be. From the frightening assault on LGBTQ+ people to the terror of having politicians in the doctor’s office with women as they make their most intimate choices, Project 2025 shows us the most macabre political outcomes we’ve seen in our lifetimes.
Remember that Project 2025 is conservatives’ dystopian playbook for what happens if Trump is elected a second time.
One thing we like to do around here is make it simple for people to understand the perils of Project 2025 through graphics. I was a photographer for 10 years, a journalist before that, and now I work in political messaging. Out of all of the ways to spread the word about something, graphics are my favorite. When done right, they’re quick, digestible, and tell people where to go if they want to dig deeper.
It’s critical in the last 11 days of this election that we saturate the internet with warnings about all the ways Project 2025 will screw us over, so feel free to share these graphics prolifically. How do you do that? Through some experimentation, I learned you can’t easily save an image from a Substack post, but you can save one from the Notes section of Substack, so I’ll be sharing these there as well. From Notes, click on the image and three dots will appear at the top-right of the screen. Hit SAVE and it will be located in your camera roll. Head to your favorite social media app and upload it there.
If you’re reading this from email on a mobile device, try to hold your finger over the graphic and hitting save. If that doesn’t work, take a screenshot. Don’t forget to crop the screenshot so it only shows the graphic, not the whole screen!
Or you could just share this post!
You will feel massive amounts of regret if Trump wins in 2025 and you know you could have done more to stop it. This weekend and next, Democratic campaigns across the country are starting their Get Out the Vote efforts, and down-ballot races are just as important for democracy as the top of the ticket. Please join phone banking, postcard writing, or door knocking efforts in your area. We’ll win this together!
Onward, Democracy Defenders!
